Hi Mick,

I'm working on my book and researching some things.  I want to review all of your articles on Phillip and his trial.


I think this interview you gave is quite accurate from a certain perspective.  However, if Phil Spector was dark and prone to tantrums, when drinking, it wasn't during the period I knew him.  That would have been from 1988 on and the death of Phillip, Jr. changed Phillip radically.  I don't think when Phil Spector tells someone that he has devils that fight inside him that he means that literally.  I think that's a figure of speech.  In fact, at some point we can all say that - that we have inner conflicts.  

What struck me in this interview is 1) the John Lennon story that Phil and Rachelle have said never happened and Yoko Ono has publicly commented on - she said it was highly exaggerated; and, 2) your example of rock and roll gun stories.  You mentioned Leonard Cohen and Phil Spector allegedly holding a gun to his neck.  That is the version Cohen wrote prosecutor Streeter about.  She clearly elicited testimony about Phil Spector intentionally and that's why the DA's investigator was hanging in the courtroom and seen lunching with Cohen which is positively obscene and seems to indicate a legal conspiracy particularly given the fact that  the DA's Major Fraud Unit refused to file charges against Cohen and I was clear about the evidence and the witnesses.  Whose name was highlighted by the DA's investigator?  Steven Machat.  

Alan Jackson was celebrated as prosecutor of the year.  Now what professional prosecutor do you know who would think the truth about Leonard Cohen with respect to Phil Spector is annoying and this ultimately leads to Steve Cooley and Alan Jackson aligning themselves with Leonard Cohen and now involves three versions of Leonard Cohen's highly embellished good rock and roll stories about Phil Spetor.  Alan Jackson and Steven Cooley found this annoying?  A professional would want to know the truth.  What do they do?  Do they attempt to determine what the truth is?  No.  They target me.  The prosecutor continues to conceal the email I have in my possession with the gun to the neck version that impeaches Cohen's testimony that Phil Spector held a gun to his head.  He sent that email on April 5th, at the beginning of the trial.  The version the prosecutor's used (and I sent you the motions and you confirmed that Cohen's statements were used before the Grand Jury) completely undermines both of these versions.  The semi-automatic (a different weapon) is held to Leonard Cohen's chest.  

I don't believe for a moment that Phil Spector's fingers were on the trigger.  It sounds absurd.  I've been out for dinner and drinks with Phillip many, many times.  He's always delightful company and that includes our dinner together after Lana Clarkson's suicide.  I can still visualize what he told me happened and that includes the insanity with Alhambra PD.  I think Phil Spector really raised a relevant issue with you - the problems with his level of fame.  This led to many people using him and Marky Ramone has now recanted his good rock and roll gun story.  

I personally find the situation with Leonard Cohen - who has destroyed my life (targeted me relentlessly, stolen from me, concealed evidence, withheld commissions, and is now using operatives to slander me horrendously) - horrifying.  He told me personally, for 20 years, that Phil Spector NEVER held a gun on him and we were extraordinarily close which makes this story even more disturbing.  I can assure you, Mick - Leonard Cohen and I were not in an intimate or dating relationship.  I think he just wants to make me look like a disgruntled lover but he perjured himself over this matter.  He is lying about the IRS.  He refuses to hand over the IRS required tax form.  And, he has exposed me and my family, and others, to dangerously unstable lunatics like Stephen Gianelli and Cohen fan, Susanne Walsh.  Gianelli and Michelle Blaine (whose blog was absolutely vile about Phil Spector) joined forces, targeted my blogs and email accounts, and tried to silence me.

One thing I'm sorry about - that I was unable to give you the master tape that may have been destroyed.  That's unfortunate.
