Corrections To Crazy for Love - Leonard Cohen - Sylvie Simmons Book I'm Your Man

By 2004 Cohen had come down from the mountain and was living in Montreal when, Simmons tells us, he discovered that while he was gone, Kelley Lynch, his business manager and friend, had stolen almost all of his money. Cohen ultimately got a judgment against Lynch, but most of the money could not be recovered. He was broke and forced back on the road, only to find that his fan base had continued to grow and that he’d gone from being a cult hero to an icon, especially in the United States, where there are now multiple generations of Leonard Cohen fans.

By 2004, Leonard Cohen was not living in Montreal.  He was visiting Montreal.  He has a U.S. green card and cannot live in Canada.  According to my former attorney brother-in-law, Cohen has residence and tax problems in Canada also.  According to Cohen, he abandoned his first green card after Marty Machat's death and obtained a new one because Canada Revenue asks where you paid your taxes the prior year and the IRS does not.  I misappropriated nothing from Leonard Cohen.  He has stolen from me; withheld commissions; and literally owes me millions.  His greed and arrogance got the best of him.  He was not broke either.  He had just received $1 million advance for Dear Heather; pursued a multi-million lithograph deal I worked on; and had planned to tour behind Dear Heather.  He just needs a story for the news media.  That story usually involved Phil Spector and a highly embellished bogus gun story.  Leonard Cohen decided to fashion himself as a victim and the news media ran with it.  It's a better story than the old "greed got the best of me" and the all too familiar tax fraud story.  And, since he was hanging out in the courtroom with the DA's investigator at my insane Intent to Annoy Leonard Cohen trial, one can safely assume the DA decided not to prosecute him for fraud, theft, etc. after I filed  my Complaint with their aptly named Major Fraud Unit because they have to keep him credible.  Regardless of the lies Cohen tells, Mick Brown/UK Telegraph has reviewed the Grand Jury transcripts and Cohen's statements about Phillip were presented to the Grand Jury.  His statements were also used in Phil Spector prosecutor documents.  And, Leonard Cohen was represented by former DA Ira Reiner so one can assume a deal was made.

The only thing Leonard Cohen heard in 2004, and I personally met with him so I know what we discussed, was that I was reporting his tax fraud to the IRS.  He and his advisers had used me horrendously.  The sage decided to force me into homelessness and then came up with a carefully crafted statement that I think he's the author of my misfortunes.  It probably took him a week to come up with that line which dazzled the prosecutor who targeted me for another Hollywood fraud, as Boies Schiller referred to Cohen.  Leonard Cohen simply cannot stop lying.  He cannot stop stealing.  As Steven Machat said - he should have simply paid us what he owes us.  He has also stolen from Machat & Machat.  Leonard Cohen's major tax hit caught up with him and he thought his best way out was to destroy my life and continue on his crusade to destroy Phil Spector.  I don't know how the DA can now explain away the fact that Leonard Cohen now has three different versions of his good rock and roll stories about Phil Spector before LA Superior Court.  I think Cohen probably knows the difference between his head, neck, and chest, and most people who have guns held on them recall it vividly.  For Cohen, it's a game.
