A child being hurt like that is the parent's nightmare. It calls on resources you never knew you had. He was badly hurt and when he perceived how badly hurt he was it represented a real assault on his morale. You're ready to deal with your own disasters but not someone else's. When I saw his courage that's where I drew my courage from."
